World Professional MuayThai Federation
W.P.M.F. acts as an intermediary in holding tournaments and controlling Thai boxing regulations for the global matches. Founder of W.P.M.F.: Somchart Charoenwacharawit The World Professional Muay Thai Federation (WPMF) was formed on 2004 by the Professional Boxing Association of Thailand (PAT). The PAT is the only officially recognized association of Professional Muay Thai by the Government of Thailand and has also become a member of the WPMF. The WPMF was established with the objective to promote the sport of professional Muay Thai throughout the world. The WPMF is committed to support the art of Muay Thai and to uphold the high standards of the sport by following the rules and regulations of Muay Thai. The WPMF will stand for justice for Muay Thai internationally and will operate the professional Muay Thai activities fairly and without any political purposes. The aim of the WPMF is to promote unity among all Muay Thai practitioners all over the world.
Message from The President of W.P.M.F
As the President of the World Professional Muay Thai Federation (W.P.M.F), I am proud of having the opportunity to manage the Federation to become the main organization of the Country to move forward for Muay Thai development. I am committed to promoting and supporting activities of the Federation as well as project works continuously.
I am always aware that “Muay Thai” is invaluable cultural heritage, which has now become a professional sport and generating incomes for boxers and all parties involved. Nowadays, there have been tremendous progresses in Muay Thai development, i.e., Muay Thai competitions have been organized worldwide; and Thai boxers have travelled to participate in Muay Thai competitions overseas; and retired Muay Thai boxers have become trainers overseas; and foreign boxers have regularly participated in Muay Thai boxing events, particularly in Thailand where Muay Thai boxing competitions have continuously been organized. These are great developments of Muay Thai over the years.
The World Professional Muay Thai Federation (W.P.M.F), with its major roles as coordinator, supporter and promoter of development of Muay Thai sport, has coordinated for development of cooperation, understanding and relationship in countries in all regions which have organized Muay Thai boxing competitions; and has also developed the potentials of personnel in Muay Thai circles to have significant skills of management and expertise.
The Federation is committed to promoting the martial arts of Muay Thai, which are the Thai national identity, to foreigners and providing opportunities for foreign boxers who have learned Muay Thai to test their potentials in the martial arts of Muay Thai, which will help promote Thai sports and public relations of Thailand to become known among foreigners.
I am well understood that the successes of the Federation’s developments over the years resulted from great cooperation and hardworking of all parties involved; therefore, as the newly-elected President of the World Professional Muay Thai Federation(W.P.M.F), I feel overwhelmingly confident that I will receive great cooperation from all parties involved as it has always been. As the newly-elected President of W.P.M.F., I am commited to providing solutions to problems and development of Muay Thai sports, as well as taking care of boxers, trainers, boxing camp owners, including retired boxers, in a fair and just manner as much as possible.
The World Professional Muay Thai Federation (W.P.M.F) has its own rules of conduct, rules and regulations, with its objectives of promoting Muay Thai sport in the capacity of well-known arts of self-defense and promoting Muay Thai championship competitions at all levels of body weights and with the highest level of professional sport and also promoting the sport to become more popular and recognized as a professional career; and developing the Muay Thai sport as one of the world’s leading arts of self-defense.

การรับงานในตำแหน่งประธานสหพันธ์มวยไทยอาชีพโลก(W.P.M.F) กระผมมีความภาคภูมิใจที่ได้มีโอกาสร่วมบริหาร สหพันธ์ฯ ซึ่งจะเป็นองค์กรหลักของประเทศที่ทำหน้าที่พฒนาการมวยไทยให้ก้าวน้า จะทำหน้าที่ส่งเสริมสนับสนุนกิจกรรมของสหพันธ์ฯ ตลอดจนงานโครงการต่างๆ อย่างต่อเนื่อง
ซึ่งกระผมตระหนักอยู่เสมอว่า มวยไทย เป็นมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมที่ประมาณค่ามิได้ เป็นกีฬาเพื่อสร้างอาชีพให้ สร้างรายได้ และสร้างรายได้ ทุกวันนี้มวยไทยก้าวหน้าไปมาก มีการจัดการแข่งขันทั่วโลก มีนักมวยไทยเดินทางไปต่อยต่างประเทศ มีอดีตนักมวยไทยไปเป็นเทรนเนอร์สอนมวยในต่างประเทศ ตลอดทั้งมีนักมวยไทยชาวต่างชาติ์ขึ้นชกสม่ำเสมอ โดยเฉพาะในเมืองไทย ที่มีการจัดการแข่งขันอย่างต่อเนื่อง ซึ่งเหล่านี้คือการพัฒนาการที่ดีของมวยไทยในช่วงหลายปีที่ผ่านมา
สหพันธ์มวยไทยอาชีพโลก(W.P.M.F) ซึ่งมีบทบาทหลัก คือ การเป็นผู้สนับสนุนเป็นผู้ส่งเสริมให้การพัฒนากีฬามวยไทยประสานงานเพื่อการพัฒนาความร่วมมือ ความเข้าใจและความสัมพันธ์ในประเทศต่างๆ ในทุกภูมิภาคที่มีการแข่งขันมวยไทย
และรวมทั้งการพัฒนาศักยภาพบุคลากรในวงการมวยไทยให้มีทักษะด้านการบริหารและมีความชำนาญก็มีความสำคัญ
การเผยแพร่ศิลปะแม่ไม้มวยไทย ซึ่งเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของชาติไทย ให้ชาวต่างชาติได้รู้จัก พร้อมทั้งให้นักมวยชาวต่างชาติที่มาเรียนมวยไทย ได้ทดสอบศักยภาพในเชิงมวยไทย ซึ่งเป็นการส่งเสริมทั้งการกีฬา และการประชาสัมพันธ์ประเทศไทย ให้เป็นที่รู้จักแก่ชาวต่างชาติทั้งหลาย
กระผมเข้าใจดี การพัฒนาของสหพันธ์ฯ ในตลอดระยะเวลาที่ผ่านมา ประสบความสำเร็จได้เพราะได้รับความร่วมมือ ร่วมแรง ร่วมใจจากทุกฝ่าย ดังนั้นการเข้ามาครั้งนี้ มาเพื่อแก้ไขปัญหา-พัฒนาในกีฬามวยให้ดีขึ้น อีกทั้งต้องการดูแล นักมวย, เทรนเนอร์, หัวน้าคณะ รวมถึงนักมวยเก่า ให้ทุกคนได้รับความยุติธรรมที่สุด
สหพันธ์มวยไทยอาชีพโลก(W.P.M.F) มีระเบียบปฏิบัติ รวมถึงกฎระเบียบ และข้อบังคับเป็นของตนเอง,
โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อส่งเสริมกีฬาในฐานะที่เป็นศิลปะการต่อสู้ที่มีชื่อเสียงและส่งเสริมให้เกิดการแข่งขันชิงแชมป์มวยไทยในทุกระดับน้ำหนักด้วยการแข่งขันระดับอาชีพขั้นสูงสุด, มีการส่งเสริมให้กีฬาดังกล่าวได้รับความนิยมมากขึ้น, ทำให้ได้รับการยอมรับในสถานะของระดับอาชีพ และพัฒนาสู่การเป็นศิลปะการต่อสู้ชั้นนำของโลกต่อไปนายสมชาติ เจริญวัชรวิทย์

ด้วยปณิธานอันแน่วแน่ในการเผยแพร่ศิลปะแม่ไม้มวยไทยในต่างประเทศ คุณสมชาติ เจิรญวัชรวิทย์ นายกสมาคมกีฬามวยอาชีพแห่งประเทศไทย จึงได้ก่อตั้ง องค์กรอาสาสมัครเพื่อเป็นองค์กรกลาง โดยมีจุดประสงค์คือดูแลการจัดการแข่งขันมวยไทยอาชีพขององค์กรสมาชิกที่จัดมวยทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศโดยมีชื่อว่าสหพันธ์มวยไทยอาชีพโลก WORLD PROFESSIONAL MUAY THAI FEDERATION (WPMF)
เนื่องจากคุณสมชาติ เจริญวัชรวิทย์ ปัจจุบันดำรงตำแหน่งนายกสมาคมกีฬามวยอาชีพแห่งประเทศไทย ซึ่งเป็นสมาคมแห่งประเทศไทย ที่จัดตั้งขึ้นโดยมีกฎหมายมวยรองรับอย่างถูกต้อง และยังดำรงตำแหน่งเป็นประธานที่ปรึกษาชมรมนักมวยเก่าแห่งประเทศไทย,คณะกรรมการบอร์ดมวยของสำนักงานมวย นอกจากนี้ยังได้สละเวลาในการจัดงานเลี้ยงสังสรรค์ของนักมวยเก่าทุกไตรมาส เพื่อร่วมกันพบปะสังสรรค์แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นและปัญหาในวงการมวย ซึ่งถือว่าป็นผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิในวงการมวยและเป็นบุคคลที่ยอมรับของวงการมวยมากที่สุดท่านหนึ่ง โดยคุณสมชาติ เจริญวัชรวิทย์ได้คำนึง ถึงการเผยแพร่ศิลปะแม่ไม้มวยไทย จึงร่วมกับบุคลากรผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิทางด้านกีฬามวยรวมตัวกันก่อตั้ง สหพันธ์มวยไทยอาชีพโลก WORLD PROFESSIONAL MUAY THAI FEDERATION (WPMF) ขึ้นตั้งแต่ปี 2547 เป็นต้นมา โดยสหพันธ์มวยไทยอาชีพโลก ร่วมกับสมาคมกีฬามวยอาชีพแห่งประเทศไทย และบุคคลในวงการมวย ได้ดำเนินการจัดกิจกรรมในการเผยแพร่ศิลปะแม่ไม้มวยไทยทั้งในต่างประเทศและต่างประเทศแย่งต่อเนื่อง อาทิ
– กิจกรรมงานวันที่ 5 ธันวามหาราช ซึ่งได้จัดไปเมื่อวันที่ 4 ธันวาคม 2551 ณ บริเวณมณฑลพิธีท้องสนามหลวง
– โดยมีชาวต่างชาติเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมกันอย่างคับคั่ง เช่น ญี่ปุ่น,รัสเซีย,อิหร่าน,สหรัฐฯ,ออสเตรเลีย,อังกฤษ และสเปนโดยมีคู่ชกมากกว่า 20 คู่
– กิจกรรมงานวันเฉลิมพระชนม์พรรษา 12 สิงหามหาราชินี
– กิจกรรมงานวันนายขนมต้ม และการจัดกิจจกรรมชกมวยการกุศลอื่น ๆ อีกมากมาย
ปัจจุบันมีบุคลากรที่มีคุณภาพ และมีใจรักมวยไทยมารวมใจกันในการเผยแพร่ศิลปะแม่ไม้มวยไทย อาทิ โปรโมเตอร์ หัวหน้าคณะนักมวย/ผู้จัดการนักมวย/นักมวยเก่า เช่น คุณเขียวหวาน ยนตร์กิจ , คุณผุดผาดน้อย โดยเฉพาะโปรโมเตอร์สายเลือดใหม่อีกหลายท่าน โดยมีวิสัยทัศน์อันก้าวไกล
คุณสมชาติ เจริญวัชรวิทย์ ร่วมกับคณะกรรมการบริหารสหพันธ์มวยไทยอาชีพโลก และคณะที่ปรึกษามีความเชื่อมั่นว่าสหพันธ์มวยไทยอาชีพโลก สามารถพัฒนาก้าวหน้าเป็นที่ยอมรับของบุคคลวงการมวย ตามวัตถุประสงค์ของการจัดตั้งสหพันธ์มวยไทยอาชีพโลก WORLD PROFESSIONAL MUAY THAI FEDERATION (WPMF)
- เพื่อทำหน้าที่เป็นองค์กรที่ไม่แสวหาผลกำไรใด ๆ
- เพื่อสนับสนุนส่งเสริมศิลปะมวยไทยและรักษามาตรฐาน กฎ กติกา ของมวยไทยให้เป็นอันหนึ่งอันเดียวกัน
- เพื่อผดุงรักษาความเป็นธรรมของมวยไทยในต่างประเทศ
- เพื่อสร้างความสามัคคีระหว่างมวลสมาชิก
- เพื่อดำเนินกิจกรรมของมวยไทยอาชีพโดยไม่มีวัตถุประสงค์ทางการเมือง
- เพื่อเป็นศูนย์กลางของสมาชิกสหพันธ์มวยไทยอาชีพโลกในการดำเนินกิจกรรมอย่างต่อเนื่องกับมวยไทยอาชีพโลก
